Prof. Dr. Stefan Liebau

Current projects:

  • Generation of patient specific and control iPS cells/Retinal organoids
  • Characterization of cell populations and single cells with respect to CRB1 function and expression

Research interests:

Our groups aims for the development of new dish culture models of the human neurosensory systems, which can imitate the complexity of cells and even organs of a human being. In this course, we use human induced pluripotent stem cells (see here), allowing us to generate specific cells, tissues and even organ-like structures.

Research focus:

  • Human induced pluripotent stem cells
  • Neurosensory systems
  • Retinal organoids
  • Olfactory organoids
  • Early human development
